Sister's Choice

After much consideration I decided that I didn't like the Sister's Choice blocks enough to make an entire queen size quilt of them. My husband didn't like them at all, which also figured into the decision! So, using what I had on hand, I managed to get them all together. Since I didn't have a decent looking fabric for a border, I put on a piano key border and now the top is done. Funny thing is, I LOVE IT! It would make a great quilt for a little girl. I'm thinking that this one is destined to go to Keepsake Quilting. I haven't heard from them about the first quilt I sent, so I'm assuming that hasn't sold. Maybe this one will...especially if it's priced well. I think this will be quilted with Baptist Fans...I hope to get it on the machine tomorrow!

This is my kind of quilt! The decision to use baptist fans is an excellent one. I really like the effect of the curves of the fans on a quilt like this with a lot of straight lines.

I think is very pretty. A perfect little girls quilt. If you still want to make a larger one just use bolder, darker fabrics. I love the border too. It makes all the blcoks tie in perfectly!

I like it too, it's springy! It'd make a great table topper when you're decorating for Easter. :)

Love the border - and I also love the wallpaper border, too. At first, I thought you had added an applique border on the outside and I thought, "Man, and you didn't like the quilt top very much, but spent all that time doing applique?" LOL! Pretty pretty pretty

I really like your quilt and I think the border looks smashing good from here - better than any plain border ! And your DJ blocks - adorable :-)

That really turned out pretty. Amazing that you didn't like the way it was turning out as planned and now it's beautiful!

I completely understand how that "I don't love it enough to make more" goes...LOL..that's how I got so many UFOs. What a good idea to just finish it up the size it is and go from there.

The piano key border is inspired! I really like the quilt better with it, than without..who knew?? Hugs, Finn

Hey, I would take if off your hands if you no other takers. It is gorgeous in my book but girlie. Probably why your husband is not a big fan of it.

I agree with the rest--I love it. It's so springy and feminine looking. The piano keys really do set the blocks off. And I thought your wallpaper border was applique at first too! It looks pretty with it!

I am a great believer that the quilt tells you when it is big enough. No matter how large you plan to make it, sometimes it comes to a stop much earlier!

That would make a lovely little girl quilt! Glad it turned out so well, even if it wasn't what you intended...
