Done!

The sister's choice quilt is done, quilted and bound. I used different blue 2.5" strips that I had cut to make blocks as the binding. I like the look of it! Now what to do with the rest of the 2.5" strips I cut?

My next project is a baby quilt. I've been making bright 4-patches as a leader/ender project. They will be set with black sashing and bright cornerstones for a baby quilt. Tracey James was born on Tuesday...and since his brother and sister have quilts, he'll need one of his own!

Oh, it turned out soooo well. DO I see Baptist fans on the border? Love those! It seems much richer and darker now than it did before. I thought at first glance when you had the blocks done that it was going to be a very light quilt...but somehow it's gotten richer and darker with the sashing and borders.

I'd keep it You never know when it might fit just the right place.

This quilt turned out wonderful. I really like how the colors blend. Looks like a good quilt to crawl up with a good book and relax.

I think this quilt turned out better after the borders and quilting done-I am sure you could find plenty of inspiration for your 2.5 strips over at www.quiltville.com

It looks wonderful Carolyn! Much better than you thought it would. I think the border really makes it, and the quilting and binding finish the job..*VBS*

Oh, it is beautiful! And - be forwarned - left over strips have a habit of multiplying - somehow you always need just a few more, cut a little and then have more left-overs that need to be made into another quilt - and then the cycle starts again!!! I love making quilts from my strips. That piano key border is a great use of strips - I have to file that in my "thoughts" file. I really like this quilt and don't think it is too purple at all!

Cheers!

I love this one. It looks like a great TV watching / lap size. Did you do the baptist fan quilting across the entire quilt, or just on the borders. I love the baptist fan on straight lines - it really softens the overall look of the quilt. I think you should be keeping this one!

I like the different blues in the sashing a lot. They kind of pick up some of the blues in the border.

I tend to be too regimented and buy only one color for the sashings, but now that I've seen this, I may just unbend a little. :)

Beautifully done Carolyn. I love the strippy border! I've not ever tried that on a quilt - I think I need to! Sister's Choice has always been one of my favorite blocks.

What a fantastic quilt! The border really added to it and gave it the punch it needed to make the softer colors stand out. I really, really like it!
