Pieceful Weekend...

I've had a very quiet weekend. I did the obligatory house cleaning yesterday morning, only as much as necessary, then made a cup of tea and headed to the sewing room. I finished one Lucky Stars quilt top...

Then I got the second one together....
After watching "Enchanted" with my daughter, I put together B-2...

And finished off with B-12. This was the first time I'd done applique with the freezer paper on top and I'm not sure if I like it. I felt that I couldn't see well enough as I was needleturning the fabric under. I'm also not happy with my stitches on this block...I didn't have a fine thread in red to match the fabric, so went with a regular sewing thread. It was far too heavy, usually I use either silk thread or something like Bottom Line to applique. But, finished is better than perfect, so this block will stay as it is!

I'm now caught up with the Dear Jane blocks and can't wait to see what awaits this week.

It's been an incredibly gorgeous weekend here...yesterday the thermometer hit 87. I took one of the dogs for a long walk and it was just beautiful. Wish I'd brought the camera!

Thanks for all of your emails about reaching my goal, unfortunately I couldn't respond to everyone because there were some "no-reply" posts. But I do appreciate your support!

You've been busy! I prefer silk thread for applique but haven't tried Bottom Line. May give it a try.

Those quilts are gorgeous! They glow! And your Dear Jane blocks look like winners to me. Do you have pictures of them all together somewhere?

oh i've forgotten to mention with all the craziness that a certain little girl would really like Mrs. E to make her a quilt :)

Your blocks are beautiful! Those reds are so nice, and I love how you used 2 prints on B-2. Your applique looks good from where I am sitting but I know how it is when it's just not exactly how you want it. They really do look good. Love Stacy

I have the Lucky Stars pattern too. I'm making it for my 2 year old niece this Christmas. I'm going to adjust the border size a little so that I can finish it at 40" or so wide, as I found a gorgeous piece of black flannel with stars in the same colours as I'll be using for the front.

You did a great job on yours, love the colours.

I am getting tired just reading about your weekend.

The quilts are great.

I must get my DJ fabric out and start on it again.

After the siggy swap that is.

Great quilt tops *S* Sounds like some of the unseasonably warm weather that left us has gone directly to your place . . . I hope it moves on soon for you too!

Your lucky stars are so cheerful! I really like your fabric choices for them. And your DJ blocks are coming along very nicely in a totally different colorway! I too like working with more than 1 color.

Cheers!
