The long road...

Yesterday, on the one year anniversary of first walking through the doors of Weight Watchers, I reached my goal! I only had about 25 pounds to lose, but it was a long road...much longer than I anticipated. My surgery last summer set me back, and if I'd exercised at all, it might have gone faster, but I've made it and I'm so excited!

The keychain above was my reward for losing 10% of my body weight. The disc marks 25 pounds lost and the star signifies reaching my goal weight. But it all means so much more to me. It means bad habits overcome, a new way of looking at food and a new way of life. I've learned so much about myself during the past year and I hope I'm a stronger, more focused person...and besides, it's really nice to shop for smaller sizes!

This weekend should be quiet, with lots of quilting time. My plan is to make this week's Dear Jane blocks and finish the two Lucky Stars quilts. Today I donated this quilt to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital here in NJ. It will be part of a fundraising event they are having on May 10th. I hope it brings in a few dollars for them!

Congrats--- I remember as a teenager dieting... motto was "You could never be to thin..." But a million years later, two kids, and a full time job I am much wiser now... It's got to be those lifestyle changes you were talking about. Good for you... good for your heart too....

Congratulations on reaching goal! I got my "disc" a couple of weeks ago. No one was sure what it was...the ladies at the meeting all said it was a washer. :)

It is great to have goals because it gives you something to work toward and then is very rewarding when you get to that point. Alot happens over the course of year - you did a great job staying true to the course despite the obsticles and did not give up. Congrats!
Cheers!
