This and that...

I wanted to share this customer quilt with you. It was a block of the month which she set with large 4 patches on point and I really liked how it turned out. The colors are so soft, the florals were very pretty. She didn't do the border that was supposed to be on it because she liked it this size. Just wanted to share with all of you sampler lovers!

The next quilt on the machine will be a dresden plate made of 30s repros. It's very pretty.

I'm almost done handpiecing my carpenter's wheel block...I just have the background to stitch on. I love how it's turning out. I'll probably find a border fabric for it and make it into a wallhanging for my bedroom.

Ooh, pretty Sampler, Carolyn. I really like her idea for the alternating 4-Patches. I think it gives the quilt a whole different look.

Your machine quilting is gorgeous!!! Bravo!

Hmmmm, such a simple way of really snazzing this up, I think! Do I see three different colors there, lighter, light and medium green? Looks like a great treatment for a sampler I've been futzing around with to finish!

Nice setting for a sampler - I have TONS of blocks needing to be set - somehow. How old are they? Most of them I got from a Prodigy computer swap (remember Prodigy?) in 1987. I love your quilting. I always say - quilting finishes the quilt!

Cheers!

Hi Carolyn, I've enjoyed reading my way through your blog from start to finish and getting to know you. You do beautiful longarm work and your own quilts look great. I love log cabin quilts and the colors in your son's quilt are dynamite. I can't wait to see the finished quilt for the other bed.

It is lovely for a sampler! I never thought of using 4-patches as an alternate block on point like that - I love the look! Have to remember that one!
