Valentine's Day was very quiet here...the boss has been out west since last week and spent the weekend in Seattle. I did go have drinks on Saturday afternoon...we were welcoming home one of our friends from Iraq. When I got to the restaurant, I thought it had been evacuated...there were people all over outside and emergency vehicles in the parking lot. It turned out that our local Yellow Ribbon Club had arranged a motorcycle escort for Will from his house to PJ's to thank him for his service. Most of us had no idea that this was going to happen...if I'd had a clue I would have been at the house and not the restaurant! They kept it very hush hush to surprise Will. It was wonderful to see so many people come out to support him. The picture above shows him addressing the crowd when they arrived at PJ's and it came from the Burlington County Times website. He'll be spending some time at Walter Reed taking care of some non-combat injuries, then he'll be coming home for good...and we'll be happy to have him back!

God bless Will!
Love the picture of Will, and as Darcie says, God bless him.
I think this is how they ALL should be welcomed home. I am so grateful to all of them. We have some close friends who were serving (husband & wife) and we had tied yellow ribbons around our palm tree. When they came to visit, we threw them a big party and had a ribbon cutting ceremony. I'll be glad when they are all back safe and sound.
nice stitchery blocks and have fun with your quilt along
Your Gail Pan stitcheries look so pretty with their borders. My friendship quilt group did a bear's paw in just those colors as our first exchange quilt when we started our group. I love it!
I glad Will had a good day .I found your blog on someone else blog. Your block of the month from Gail Pan is just lovely
The bom's are great...I have yet to start mine! Glad to see your friend getting such a great welcome back.
