A few weeks ago when my husband was in Copenhagen, he and I were IMing and he was telling me about the fabulous dinners he was having, how beautiful the city was...and I got to feeling sorry for myself because I wasn't there with him! What to do to cheer myself up? Start a new quilt! So, this is the quilt I started that night. It's called "Underground Railroad" and is from the
Elm Creek Quilts book by Jennifer Chiaverini. I have all of the four patch blocks done and about half of the half square triangle blocks. I just wanted to get some up on the design wall and see what it would look like. I used fabrics that I got for my birthday last June and so far I like what it looks like. What do you think?
Today in the mail I received these two Pot Holder kits from a dear friend who lives in Texas. They are paper pieced...I'm looking forward to making them!

I am looking forward to seeing the quilt when you finish it so please do post photos! I am a fan of the Elm Creek books (own them all) and also have both pattern books of hers but haven't made a quilt, maybe someday. I like the colors and fabrics you are using and they look very nice. :D
Ooooh, love your Underground Railroad start! Great colors. And, is there anything sweeter than a 4-patch?
I have a lot of 3" pp blocks (UFOs) that I should turn into potholders. Thanks for posting the kits since it sparked an idea!
