Naked Lemons

What to do? I have 10 naked lemons, stripped of their zest, waiting for something delicious to be made from them. Aside from lemonade, do you have any family favorites that I could make? Let me know!

Why do I have naked lemons? Well, last summer another blogger was making limoncello and I thought, "I'd like to try that!" But, my parents were heading to Italy in late August and they said they'd bring some back for me, so I didn't bother. Long story short, when they tried to buy it, they were told that the sellers couldn't guarantee that it would make it back to them in the states, so they didn't bother getting it. Fast forward to last night when my DH and I enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal at a new little restaurant near us. At the end of our meal, they served us some of their limoncello and it was wonderful! So, I decided to try it. I found a recipe on the internet for limoncello that would be ready in a week instead of about 40-60 days, so I'm trying that first. If it's not all the great, I'll try the longer recipe. I just know that I need to give it a try! I'll let you know how it goes...

And please send me some recipes! Thanks!

One last note...blogger told me again that I could upgrade and I did...it seemed pretty painless, I made sure to check and see if my email address shows in my profile and this is my first post...here goes....

It keeps telling me I can switch too, and then it won't let me!

How about the old standby - lemon meringue pie!

I made Greek preserved lemons which are lemons in a brine. You can get the exact recipe on the internet. They are great in salads.

About to Google limoncello, just saying hello first. ps you do realise you can juice the lemons, freeze in ice cube trays, seal up later in a zip lock bag and have real juice at your leisure??

Cynthia (Aussie Quilter) made a similar plea a few months ago - I sent her a lemon poppy seed cake recipe - let me know if you'd like it! Good luck with the lemoncello. It's so yummy!

Welcome as a fellow beta blogger, with mail address and all :-)
Can you make lemon curd with the lemons ? I like lemon curd on toast, but I don't know how to make it.
What a colourful Log Cabin you showed - I like it, but would probably not even think of the combination.

I have never heard of limoncello either but would love to know what yummy recipes you receive and which you try to make.

I have a lemmon tree in my back yard and it is overflowing right now of lemmons the size of baseballs or larger!!! I had never seen a lemmon tree before moving here to TX.

I have no idea what to do with them. So far I have given about 4-5 dozen away to friends. There are still several left on the tree a little green still - but perhaps when they are ripe I will think of something to use them in. :) I will check back to see if you share any recipies or photos ~Bonnie

I like lemon with chicken or fish. I don't make fish, so I would marinade the chicken if I'm not lazy, or just add it with the cooking. I like it with italian herbs.
