Gorgeous...

This is one of the prettiest quilts I have ever quilted, I just wish it could have lived with me! The pattern is called "Faceted Jewels" and it is put out by Glad Creations. It is almost all batiks, some of the lights are an oriental fabric and together it is just stunning. The customer pieced it beautifully and it lays so flat, it was a pleasure to quilt it.

I don't have anything of my own to show right now. My Pfaff has been in the shop for 2 weeks and even though I pulled out my Featherweight, I haven't had time to sit down and sew. I did paint my "studio" AKA the living room. I've rearranged the furniture that was in there so it left me with more wall space to hang quilts. I've got a few on the walls, I'll post pictures when I finish!

This week is Vacation Bible School at our church. My 16 year old daughter is directing this year and she has done a great job of putting it all together. I'm very proud of her! There are about 40 kids signed up to participate as well as a crew of teen and parent volunteer helpers. This is the first time I've worked on VBS and I had a lot of fun last night. I'm the registrar, so for me the hard part is done. I don't know that we'll get many more kids to sign up tonight. When I finished my part last night, I helped in the kitchen with snacks. Tonight I hope to sneak around and see what happens in the groups.

I'd love for this one to come live with me too. Very pretty.

Hopefully you'll get to work on some of your own stuff soon. That's one reason I've about decided not to get a long-arm. I'm afraid I'd have no time for the quilting I want to do for myself. And I would have to take in customer quilts because I couldn't justify the cost of the machine without some way to let it pay for itself. So I figure I'll just quilt them myself or send them out to someone else to do for me. I can get a LOT of quilts done for the price of a long arm!

You are right that is a beautiful quilt. A lot of people are rearranging their sewing rooms. More wall space is always a good feature. I look forward to seeing the finished project.

First off - I love the quilt. Someone did a beautiful job. An heirloom for sure.
On your painting adventure...Sewing room -living room.same thing. You do wish you could lived there sewing (everyone else would just have to adapt!!!)
There's a special place in heaven for your daughter...Vacation Bible School is a big under taking. But how Wonderful!!! Kids are having so much, they don't realize the values that are being instilled in them. Tell her to take lots of pictures. On family night, there could be a cool powerpoint of the adventures.

Looking forward to pictures of your sewing area. Your daughter is doing all that at only 16? She must be a remarkable girl. I barely knew what my name was at 16 :-).

I know Glad Creations..in Minneapolis. I've taken some classes there, years ago tho, when I could see better to drive in the metro area.

Carolyn, Beautiful quilt. Your customer must be an advanced quilter for sure. Would love to see your quilting stitches close up. :-) Can't wait to see that Cottage Yellow paint, sounds like something I'd like.
