Progress

I decided the first project I should tackle on The Short List would be the Christmas tree skirt.  Last night I finished removing all of the binding (which took just as much time to remove as it did to put on!).  Once that was done

I trimmed the corners of the quilt.

I couldn't find any of the fabrics I used to make the tree skirt, so decided on a black and tan Thimbleberries fabric for the binding.  Tonight I made the binding and sewed it on.  Once it's handstitched down, this one will be finished!  I didn't have enough fabric to do a bias binding, which I really needed for the curved corners, so I hope everything will lie smoothly, otherwise I'll have to press it into submission.

I think once I finish a project, I'll take if off my list and add a new one on.  That way my list will never be longer than four or five items.  I'll keep a separate  list for my applique and other long term projects.  It sounds like there are a few of us who will be making our short lists together.  This isn't a formal challenge, so there are no rules, regulations, linky lists or any of that.  I'm sure that we all want to spend our time sewing , rather than trying to follow challenge rules!  Just let us know that you're sewing along with us, so we can see your progress too!  I know that Kathie wants to sew a few bindings, Ruth wants to join us, JulieQ, and Debbiequilter to name a few.  Let us know if you're in too!  Vicky, have you had time to sew this week?

I'm with Kathie -- that's a pretty cool ruler! I laughed when I read that you might press it into submission -- the depths to which a quilter must resort LOL!

I bet it feels good to have that chore done! I worked out pretty good too. BTW, I just posted my list.

I'd like to say I am in too cause I just made a list like yours. Yours sounds doable to me, but then I don't know your schedule. My list is doable for me but my problem is I don't really have priorities and change my goals all the time. Good luck to all.

No sewing this week. I'm gone 12 hours a day and too tired when I get home at night. Hooray for tackling your first item! The perfect fix for the "oops" on your tree skirt!!

Removing binding is no fun at all, I agree! I love what you're doing with this one.
