Sock Fail

I sat down to have a cup of tea and work on my Tidepool Socks.  I've been totally uninterested in them, they just weren't knitting up into something I liked. I fought it hard, I tried to like them, really I did, but there was just something about them. So now they look like this:

Yep, I did it again.  Back in December I ripped out a sock I had started for the boss...right about the time I got to the heel flap, which is where I was on this one.  Now I'm wondering if I'll ever finish a pair of socks...or even one sock!

Maybe the yarn is too "busy" for a pattern and you need to just do stockenette. I am working on a pair right now that are really ugly. The puddles, oh my. I should have just done a rib all the way except for the sole. Live and learn.

Ruh-Roh! Don't give up hope! I woke up this morning to find the "cats" (say that with a growl in your voice) had pulled a ball of my sock yarn out of the bag and wrapped it all around the house. The places the got it into and then back out of were pretty funny!

I think some yarn could be just for looking at! I'm chuckling because I have left 'yucky' things unfinished hoping I'll be inspired to complete them, when really I should just have the same courage you do and unravel them! But I do have a lovely big clear glass urn on my shelf that's full of pretty balls of yarn. Hang in there!!

I wonder what it is that is hanging you up with socks? Usually getting to the hell flap comes just in time to rescue me from cuff boredom.
