I'm still here

but haven't found time to write. What have I been doing? Well there's this...
These are Just Ribbing socks from Apple Laine, made in Schaeffer Heather, Gertrude Ederle colorway from Simply Socks Yarn Company. I wish the photos did the colors justice, they are just so rich and gorgeous. These have already been through the wash (yes, I put them in the washer and dryer!) and are just so soft, I almost wish winter wasn't almost over, they're so warm! I've also started a pair of toe up socks using the new SSYC club yarn that arrived last week. These are very springy and fun to knit! Pictures later...

I've also intended to make some Dear Jane blocks, but so far, all the blocks that Anina has chosen, I've already done. So, yeah, I did all the easy ones first, I admit it. Here is C-9...

This one is D - 3... And B-13, which isn't nearly as out of square as the picture would indicate!

My Pfaff is at the spa for a tune up and defuzzing, so I've had time to work on some applique. More on that when the block is finished...it's close!

Also found out today that my son may be moving back home for awhile, after living at college for the past 3 years. THAT will be interesting! His dog moved in with us today and will probably be here until Andrew has graduated and is on his own. I'm considering giving up my large sewing room (which used to be his room) so the boy has room for all his accumulated college stuff...have to think on that one a bit. And of course, it will all need to be done by next week. Guess I should go get some work done!

Oh, my! I'm sorry that I keep choosing blocks you've already made. :-|
When will your machine be back? I'll email you and make sure to pick at least one "new" block especially for you next week.
Good luck on deciding what to do about the sewing room.

Those socks do look scrumptious. I was actually just wondering the other day...do you sock knitsters make any cotton or silk socks with lacy little designs for chilly summertime wear?

Good luck with your room re-arranging, Carolyn. Perhaps you should leave some of the work though until son can help you? Wouldn't want him to think that you're "mothering" him or anything. lol

Carolyn, Those socks make me want to take up knitting, maybe for next winter. My feet were freezing today and those look so cozy!
The colors you are using for your Dear Jane are gorgeous. It is really going to be something special.
I think you should tell your son to keep his stuff in boxes and you will let him sleep on a cot in the corner as long as he doesnt touch anything, lol. I know it's hard to give up that space once you have it. Hopefully it wont be for very long.
My heavy comforter always makes me sweat, so it's definitely the comforter. Have a great week. Love Stacy

Love those socks - look very cozy and comfy.
Our girl is going to be moving home temporarily this summer and I'm faced with giving back her bedroom, too. It was easy enough to create space when she came to visit - but now she's going to want the whole thing *yikes*

The socks are lovely. As for the room, um, well -- you could tell him he needs to live with less?!?

Great socks and blocks! Dr. Seuss? :>) Good luck with the temporary living arrangements. They always seem to bring a dog with them..... but we love having both son and dog here.
