Starting New

Is there any feeling better than starting a new quilt? (Okay, I'm sure there is, but that's where I am right now! LOL)
Last night I made my first block for the sampler quilt I decided to make from the "He Loves Me" line of fabrics from Maywood. I just love these fabrics, and love the block. I have no idea what other blocks will make it into this quilt...but so far I'm happy!
I'm feeling that adrenalin rush...new fabric, new quilt, new design and no idea how it will all end up. Or if it will ever be finished! But I'm optimistic...and hopefully by late summer it will be on my bed.
Any block suggestions? What is YOUR favorite block???

Yummy fabrics! My favorite block (I think :D) is churn dash, and 9-patch, and log cabin, and rail fence, and, and , and ROFL. Well, you know, it's hard to just have one favorite, and as you can probably tell, I'm always in love with the traditional blocks. Can't wait to see more blocks for this quilt. :)

there are SO MANY different star blocks available out there have you thougth of using different stars??? The one you have made already looks relly good - love these soft colors.

My most recent Star pattern find is from Judy Martin's webpage and is called Mississippi Star.

I drew it out and figured out the measurements. I really like how it turned out - difficult looking but easy to make...

go down to the bottom under "Blocks by themselves" and click on Mississippi Star.

Good Luck - I am sure what ever you decide you will have a very pretty quilt! ~Bonnie in SE Texas

No one favorite block although I'm partial to string quilts and log cabin quilts.

I LOVE starting new quilts - other than finishing a quilt it's my favorite part!

I love the Churn Dash also - and variable star, and nine patch, to name three. I know there are LOTS more. How fun to start a new project!

Ohio Star is also my favorite block. And your fabrics are beautiful. Love the one with daisies on. Another block to make; why not make a lot of different star blocks.

I just love that start of a new quilt feeling.
I love so many blocks... Churn Dash, Attic Windows, Cake Stand. It would be nice if you were going with a theme I'm sure you could come up with enough star blocks. So much fun!!!

That fabric is just darling - love the daisies.
I think my favorite block seems to be whatever I'm working on right now *s* You can never go wrong with the basics . . . stars, 9 patch, 4 patch, churn dash. Heck, I just love 'em all.

I like the blocks that have 'spin' to them... like pinwheels and windmills. And kaleidoscope. :)

I don't know if I have a favorite block. It depends on the mood I'm in. Sometimes I like to make HSTs and sometimes I don't so that usually affects my block choice. I really like to design my own blocks so maybe my favorite block hasn't been designed yet.
